about this site

This site contains the digitally transcribed writings of the Codex Mirabilis, a posthumously discovered body of writing by Dr. Rebecca Lawrence.
The nature of the Codex's content led to its widespread rejection from mainstream archival institutions; it is now overseen by
the Foundation, an independent organization formed for its preservation and access. Uncovered by researchers unloading Lawrence's storage unit, the collection
was named after the plant pressed in the front cover of the first examined journal. As transcription efforts are ongoing, and conducted on the basis of intern
availability, entries are updated in a serialized manner.

about the journals

On March 11, 2024, a box of twelve journals was recovered from a storage unit auction
just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. The winner of the auction, a dentist
and Virginia resident, quickly alerted several academic departments and antiquarian book
dealers in the area, including founding board member T. Blythe. The journals'
contents are undated, and Lawrence's biographical details are difficult to verify, leading to widespread
discussion in the field about appraisal and value. In May 2024 the Foundation's generous bid finally brought the journals
to their permanent home. Digital transcription efforts began along with the Foundation's first cohort of interns in early 2025.
